The ancient Greek cubes gambling game precursor of the modern dice is believed to have been invented by the homeric hero Palamedes during the siege of Troy. The ancient Greek dice gaming was called kuveia and played by throwing three dice. The earliest ancient Greece dice playing was the Astragali (knucklebones) whice were made of little animal bones. These were thrown like modern dice and also used as a means to predict the future and to provide divinations (kuvomanteia). Set of three dice based on variations of museum exhibits of ancient Greek and Roman bone or ivory dice (1st - 3rd century R.D). Handmade pieces, arrives in a box.
